Weight Loss, Healthy Gained

I want to tell you about a woman..

She loved her husband and kids.. she strived to keep her home neat and tidy, she homeschooled....loved the Lord and church. This woman loved to cook.. she did well on researching on chemicals and tried to avoid corn syrup, white breads, food dyes and preservatives.. She would be a good mamma and make her children homemade oatmeal bars sweetened with honey, she would enjoy these treats as well! No pop in her home! In her home there was one drink offered, ice water. She tried to drink as much as she could in a day, she even had to write it down just to make sure she got enough in her day... When she could she would make bread and always offered veggies and fruits. She would use *fake* butter on the steamed veggies, skip the salt and add lots of pepper....the *fake* butter container would please her, it says lower cholesterol! She would snack on bananas and feel great that she chose a healthy snack.

This woman was close to 300lbs and *gaining*..

This girl *was* me..
I am on the right, purple shirt, black skirt.

Can I take you on my journey? Around November I received one of my favorite magazines, Above Rubies. In this magazine they advertised this book:

{Trim Healthy Mamma by Pearl Barrett & Serene Allison}

I bought the book right away and anxiously waited for it to arrive! It felt like it took forever to come but then, yay it was in my mailbox! I started reading right away...my heart pounded with conviction, I knew the Holy Spirit was guiding me, 'this is the way.'

Trim Healthy Mamma is one B I G book, full of wisdom...I learned how a person gains weight, I learned new foods to try, recipes, recipes, recipes! From chocolate to pizza dough~ oh my! I learned why and how to exercise.. I learned how to be a foxy lady to my man..and why are *intimate* time together is s u p e r important.

I started the Trim Healthy Mamma plan in November, around Thanksgiving. I did my best to try and give it a good start, I was excited. December came and my family all came down with a bad bug...I continued with the plan but fell off, eating whatever was easy and sounded good. January came, I was feeling so much better and back on my Trim Healthy Mamma journey!

I seen results quickly: my face would look thinner, clothes loose.. In the mid month of January, I was in a new size shirt! From a 3XL to XL. The inches came off FAST!

Its been 7 months since I started Trim Healthy Mamma and I feel like a *new* woman, actually its better then that.. I feel like ME, but IMPROVED! I have super energy for my family and home!

7months and I have lost 70lbs.

I am still in shock, in awe of the way that I look now..I am not near my goal but this journey has been amazing and I am just excited! The variety of food is quite amazing..I can tweak old favorites, enjoy icecream, frappas, pizza, creamy pastas, salads, steak, BUTTER!

If I could tell you one of my favorite things about THM its the wisdom...its the knowledge you learn in this book. Its power for a healthier YOU, a healthier family!

I cannot forget to mention how much my husband has lost {and loving the food}

Capture Your Sons Heart

Have you captured your sons heart?

I have 2 amazing mighty boys, in some ways they are alike, in others..very different. I love how the Lord created boys, they are born with energy and a love for dirt! My boys are different then me..I am not the best lego builder, football tosser, dirt digger.. My boys are so creative with their inventions, buildings and just how their minds work. Children are a hertiage of the Lord and when I look at my boys, I see the image of God! He made them strong to protect, He gave them energy to lead, He created my boys to be builders to build strong nations.

My boys are rough and tough and often dirty. My son always says (after I give him the look of dissapointment when his new shirt is dirty) we are boys and meant to be dirty! Very true Son! But there is a gentleness to my sweet boys, they love to be near me. When I am in the kitchen, they are often helping me chop, stir or mix. They go out of their way to just be next to me. It melts my heart. But do I go out my way to be near my boys?

I have learned a way to capture my boys heart! Althought my boys look tough, they love when mom wrestles around with them...locking them into some move, which I have no idea what that move is! ;) They love when I play around with them..they laugh and giggle..huge smiles of pure delight!

A mom of boys is a mom who wrestles! And mammas, when you do that..it opens a W I D E door to their heart.

When you have ahold of your boys heart, they will listen to you. They will obey your voice, they will be kind and gentle to all woman including sisters, they will feel comfortable and confide in you..you are building a relationship to stand strong. Most importantly, you can point your child to Christ. Your words will be important to them and they will take it all to heart.

I pray often, Lord help me to have a good relationship with each one of my children.

I noticed when I tickled and played rough with my boys, especially my oldest..our days went by smoother, he laughed and smiled alot more. God gave me the KEY.

Go ahead Moms and play rough with your boys! A mom of boys is a mom who wrestles !

All Things New, Welcome Spring!

Hello readers! Its been such a long time since I have updated my blog...life is busy but G O O D! I hope and pray that I can blog more, God pours so many wonderful ideas into my life daily...I just want to share. This is what His Loving Presence blog is, sharing what the Lord reveals to me.

Spring looks like it has finally arrived here in Michigan, yay! The grass is turning green, the sunlight feels brighter in the mornings, birds are out! My kids are loving outside time and we even have started the grill a couple times. I love this time of year, everything is new and fresh..coming alive from a cold dark winter.

In one way its like our lives.. in sin our life can be so dark and hopeless. That is how I felt, everyday not knowing any certain direction. When I became *new* in Christ,
washed in His precious blood, forgiven..my life started all over. There was purpose, living each day for Him. Being a wife for God's glory, learning how to be a woman all over again...the world, tv and movies are so opposite from His standard. I enjoyed searching His Word for those precious scriptures on being a helpmeet and mother. I had a new goal, to be a Proverbs 31 woman! It was so exciting to me.. Like Spring..everything was *new!*

The excitement has not ended...God continues to pour thoughts, plans and creative ideas how to make my home and family give Him glory. Halleluiah, He never leaves us!

As you look outside and enjoy all this season brings,
remind yourself of where you have been and where you are now. Thank our precious Savior for His saving grace!

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

Happy Spring!
