Should Christian parents encourage "santa" to their children?? Read them the story, watch the movies, leave cookies out and take them to the mall for a picture??
For me the answer is NO!
Its simple, why do we need to tell our children there is a magical man?
Who brings dozens of gifts? that lives forever and travels around the world all in one night?
Why is it okay to LIE to our children??
Peter 3:10 "For the Scriptures say, "If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies."
A lie is a SIN. Plain and simple. We should not play around with sins...
We need to teach our children that its never okay to lie. there are no white lies in the Bible. Its okay to sin when this happens or for this reason, I have never read that! Once they are older, the truth of santa will impact them and your child will remember you LIED.
Besides the birth of CHRIST is the BEST gift a child could ever recieve. That ALONE is all we need.
We do not need to expect dozens of gifts Christmas morning. I hear parents say that they do want them to know the meaning of Christmas but yet they are buying tons of gifts! lots of toys are going to take away Jesus.
Christmas is a time for love, a celebration for Jesus being born. A savior was born for us!
I want my children to know that their parents spent time and bought a few gifts. I also didnt go and buy the latest and most popular toys, we do not spend alot of money. I prefer second hand shops and teaching my children that less is more! Things, toys are not what we need to be happy on this earth. This is very important to learn and in this society adults do not even know this! They buy and buy, charge up credit cards, buying things they cannot afford. Storage units, tubs are sold in stores to store, stuff, stuff, stuff!!
We have a loving warm home, family, good health, the freedom to read our Bibles here in America.. we have JESUS, we are saved!! Those gifts are more then enough to feel blessed this season. Lets encourage our children to know how blessed they are.
Read the story of Christ birth from the Bible to your children..
Watch the movie..
Visit a shelter, feed the homeless.. donate their toys to the needy... read about the christians who are killed, injured and even put in prison for being a christian. Give your child the truth this Christmas....
