Simple Womans Daybook, Jan 18th
Outside my Window..
The snow has melted, sun is shinning!
I am thinking..
How much I cannot wait to be myself again and really kick this cold to the curb!
All that is on my to do list..
Just one thing~ get better!
I am thankful..
for my son who plays with his younger siblings while mamma rest..and for his toast with alittle butter and strawberry jam, the only thing that sounds good and he makes them perfect!
Also for my two younger children.......so sweet and asking if I need more orange juice..snuggling with me and praying for me to get better.
My husband for coming home and taking over, helping with the cleaning and getting all the laundry done.. Also just telling me to rest and how much he misses my cooking! makes me smile!!!!
I am wearing..
my fav pjs from Kohls!
I am remembering..
well I am going to remember how good everyone is and how sweet while I have been sick.. I need reward my family in a big way!
In the learning room..
Learning room has become the couch.. lots of reading and coloring.. math when daddy gets home!
I am going..
hopefully for a walk, sun shine would be nice!
I am currently reading..
My bible, in the proverbs!
I am hoping..
to be myself again!!
On my mind..
not too much..rest, rest, rest!
Noticing that..
Its Jan but looks like spring outside here in Nevada
From the Kitchen..
simple meals, but bless my hubby's heart for providing all the meals.. his french toast the other day was well amazing!
Around the house..
Christmas decorations are all down..except a few winter items!
One of my favorite things..
Hearty soups!
Photo I would like to share..
Pretty Utah, we enjoyed spotting animal foot prints on the snow all over the mtns!

Humor for Monday!
What Do You Do All Day?
A man came home from work and found his three
children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud. Empty food boxes and wrappers,
thrown all around the house.
The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house
And there was no sign of the dog.
Proceeding Into the entry, he found
an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked down.
In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a
cartoon channel, and the family room was covered with toys
And various items of clothing.
In the kitchen dishes filled the sink,
breakfast food was spilled on the
counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog
food was spilled on the floor,
a broken glass lay under the table and a
small pile of sand was spread
by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife.
He was worried
She might be ill, or that
Something serious had happened.
He was met with a small trickle of water as he
made his way out the bathroom door.
As he peered inside he found wet towels,
scummy soap and more toys
all over the floor.
Miles of toilet paper lay in a
heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.
As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife
still curled up in the bed and
in her pajamas, reading a novel.
She looked up
At him, smiled, and asked how his day went
He looked at her bewildered and asked,
"What Happened here today?"
She again smiled and answered,
"You know every
Day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?"
"Yes," was his reply.
She answered,
"Well, today I didn't do it."
Priceless!!
This makes me laugh! I can kinda relate... my husband has never asked what do I do all day but he got a glimpse at what a big job it is to run the home. I have been sick since thursday and mostly napping on and off. At one point he said, "I need you to get better.. I miss your cooking and the way you keep the house!"
He probably doesnt notice all the little and big things I do around the home each day. But thats okay! Because I cant say that I know everything he does for us at work. I take pride in my home and its a high calling from our heavenly father. I know my husband works hard and because he does, I want him to come home to a clean home. Our home is never perfectly spotless but its neat and smells clean!

Menu for the week of Jan 17th
I love planning a menu for the week, it saves me alot of time at the grocery store and during the week. I like to plan my menu using alot of the same ingrediants, it saves me from wasting veggies! Another trick of mine is if I know on Wednesday I will be out in the afternoon, I plan an easier dinner for that night. I really do not like take out during the week so it helps to have a few easier meals in the home, just in case!
{Breakfast is usually fruit, cereal/oatmeal}
Monday
Lunch: breakfast rollups, sliced apples
Dinner: Cheeseburger soup, slice of bread
Peppermint icecream for dessert!
Tuesday
Lunch: toasted turkey sandwiches, mandarin oranges
Dinner: Taco night!
Wednesday
Lunch: English muffin pizza's, carrots & homemade buttermilk ranch
Dinner: Nathan hotdogs, homemade coleslaw, fruit with cottage cheese

Lunch with a Crunch!
This has been a favorite lunch of ours! Its easy and thrifty.
We call it tuna dip ;-)
I usually use a big can of tuna so that there is plenty for the next day. Add 1/2 cup of mayo, 1/3 cup of cheese, black olives (sliced or whole, whichever one is on sale!) 1 stalk of celery, chopped.
Add crackers and fruit!
{Enjoy!}
